BIO

Samuray Akarvardar was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. She holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics and has worked as a researcher in both Turkey and France. In 2007, she moved to the United States, where she decided to dedicate herself entirely to her art. Over the years, she has attended various art classes and studios. Meryem Arica (Istanbul, Turkey) and Michael Azgour (Palo Alto, CA) were her most influential instructors, with whom she worked for many years. She currently lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
